Nature Day Camps for Teens
We offer a few different exciting options for teen day camps.
Keepers of the Arrow Day Camp

For teens who are excited to learn and practice archery!
The camp will form a tight knit unit during their week by starting with the basics of shooting technique and arrow making. Shooting exercises will be based around target shooting and increase in difficulty throughout the week. As campers improve their maturity and skill, they will move on to advanced drills such as moving and aerial targets.
The purpose of this camp however, is not showmanship, but rather practicing the proficiency and stealth of archers. They will progress through training in scouting, camouflage, and natural movement through the forest.
Archers Craft Bow-Making Day Camp

Have you dreamed of making and shooting your own handmade bow and arrow? This is for real and this is your chance to do it!
In this program, the campers will make a wooden long bow from a piece of wood, carving it down, shaping it, and tillering the bow so it works optimally. Campers will make their own string for the bow. They will also make a leather quiver to store their arrows. They will learn how to make arrows with feather fletching, and they will leave with a few arrows to put in their quiver. All materials needed to complete the project are provided. To take a project from raw materials to completion teaches competence and builds confidence. Campers will be taught the “instinctive” shooting method (a method used by people who rely on the bow in their daily lives)
Peter Yencken, the instructor for this camp, has helped hundreds in making bows and learning to shoot.
