Poison Ivy Deep Dive
March 12, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Did you know the first doctors were naturalists and artists?
To know how to heal, they needed to know the plants. And to know the plants, they studied where they grew, drew them and observed them closely. Herbalists and Naturalists around the globe study the patterns, preferences and personalities of the plants they work with beneficially as well as those which are harmful.
Today, I invite you to come on a deep dive to meet Sister Ivy, better known as Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy is a plant many of us shy away from, but really, just like spiders and snakes, we simply need to understand their preferences and how to identify them in order to interact with them respectfully and without fear. During this course you will practice identifying this clever plant through mind challenging games, sketching, observing and learning fun facts about how it interacts with the forest around it! Afterwards, you may find yourself wanting to call this plant Sister Ivy, as I do!
