Families are invited out for a day of fishing on the Rivanna River and to learn the basics of freshwater angling. Topics covered include different fishing techniques, fishing line knots, reading the river and fish habitat, fishing safety, fish ID, and lures/baits. Participants provide their own fishing poles/reels so they can learn to use their personal gear and be provided with guidance about how to perfect their set up for the types of fishing they aim to do in the future.
