Come join us for a weekend in the woods where your knowledgeable guides will teach you everything you need to know to explore and thrive in the backcountry.

We will cover route planning, meal preparation, gear recommendations, trail etiquette, and more while learning and getting curious about the natural plants and animals around us. By the end of the weekend together we hope to empower each participant to continue to enjoy the magic of backcountry on their own.

We can provide rentals for everything except clothing, footwear, rain gear, personal items, and a couple small gear items for a rental fee.. We attempt to plan the route and mileage will be based on the comfort and fitness level of the group (expect around 5 mile days). We will ask for a mandatory pre-trip virtual planning meeting.

An Important Note on Fitness Levels:

Backpacking means hiking trails with a 30-40 pound pack on. These trips will have us hiking 4-8 miles per day, which is quite different with a pack on than when you’re hiking with your dog! If you exercise a couple times a week, you will likely feel aches and pains on the trip but will be fine. If you are out of shape or don’t walk, run or hike a couple times a week, we do not recommend this trip, as hiking with weight when not in shape can cause serious injuries. If you are unsure whether or not this is a good trip for you, please feel free to contact Soupy – she is happy to help you assess if it is right for you! erinmaureencampbell@gmail.com
