This class is part of Peter Yencken’s 2024 Making Weekend.

Have you ever wanted to make your own bow?

What about a quiver full of arrows to go with it? This introductory weekend is an opportunity for you to focus on either making a bow and single arrow, or going all in on a full quiver of arrows – including the quiver!

A wooden longbow, complete with a string. You’ll go from a rough cut stave to a functioning bow. Things you’ll learn include: how to rough out the form, balance the limbs, and string the bow. Peter will also make you an arrow so you can test the whole thing out.

OR, do you already have a bow you like? Come make an entire quiver full of arrows… Oh, and the quiver, too! This workshop will cover the basics of leatherworking as well as get you to a point where you could turn out your own arrows at home.

Learn new skills, and make new friends. Bowmaking is just one of the projects Peter is offering this weekend, so you will be working alongside a number of other people making a number of different things!
